Digital vs Offset Printing

With the steady improvement of digital printing technology, many companies find it appealing to have the option of either digital printing or offset printing. While there are no steadfast rules on when to use each of these technologies, below are some general guidelines to help you.

Digital Printing:
  • Small quantity print jobs, up to 1,000 sheets at an 8.5” x 11” size
  • No drying time needed, can trim the print job immediately for faster turn-around
  • Black & White or Process Color only, no true PMS match
  • Variable Data, each sheet can be personalized
Offset Printing:
  • Large quantity print jobs, from 1,000 sheets and up, at an 8.5” x 11” size
  • Can maintain true PMS color match
  • Excellent Color Quality
  • Faster press speeds for larger quantity print jobs
Many factors will determine whether you should use digital or offset printing. Our team of experienced print professionals at GordonGraphcis will help you determine which technology will best serve your needs on a project-by-project basis.
